The Medullary Paralysis has been selected as a "Honorable Mention" in the December 2007 round of the Song of the Year song and lyric competition. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only those artists who display particular talent or creativity receive such recognition.

The Medullary Paralysis has also been selected as a "Runner Up" in the June 2009 round of the Song of the Year song and lyric competition. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only the top entries achieve Runner Up status.
