Awarded to Johann G. Johannsson

Johann G. Johannsson was born in 1947 in Keflavik, Iceland. He
is one of the most productive of Iceland's songwriters. He is the author of
hundreds of songs, of which more than two hundred have been recorded by
various artists. He has composed music in many genres such as rock, pop, R&B
and progressive rock. He stared a career as a musician back in 1966 as a
singer and bassist.

Johann G. Johannsson made it as one of the top 5 in the category Adult 
Contemporary by his song and lyric "Don't try to fool me" in October's round 
2005. He has been selected as a "Honorable Mention" in the February 2006 
round as well as "Runner Up" in the March 2006 round of the Song of the Year 
song and lyric competition. He made "Suggested Artists" placement as one of 
April's Top Songwriters. In June 2006, he made "Runner Up" once again.
Then, in July 2006 and November 2007, he made "Finalist" again for his songs  "Your Love" and "I'm Gone." In
September 2006, Johann added another "Honorable Mention"  for
his song "I'm Talking About You" and a "Suggested Artist" 
accolade for his song "To Get By." Johann placed as a "Honorable Mention" in
November 2006 with "True Moments" and "That Night". Johann made it as one of the 
top 5 Finalists in the Adult Contemporary category for his song and lyric "I'm Gone" in the
November 2007 round . In April 2008, Johann placed in the top 5 Finalists with his 
Hip-Hop/R&B submission "Last Chance." Most recently, Johann added another "Honorable Mention"
credit to his name in June 2008 for his song "First Impressions."

Feel's The Same, What'ya Gonna Do, I Miss You Tonight, My Girl, That Night, True Moments, and the lyric 
Help Them.

Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only the top 
entries place in the competition.
