Hero

Verse 1:

Politicians ascend the masses with imperious propaganda schemes
Selling us their autocratic lies while buying their war machines
They leak the source to change the course of our perception of democracy
Seducing us sons, by giving us guns, as a proxy of manifest destiny

Chorus:

They say I’m a hero in the making - A profit made killer
They say I’m a soldier of fortune - A life or death dealer
They say obey your orders - Forget all that you know
They say be a good solder - You’ll come home a hero

Verse 2:

They are crafting destruction, casually calling them "war games"?
Players of the deep state, pawning us peasants with no names
Like blood stained rags, we raise flags for freedom’s irony
Blindly sing along, prisoners to a hero’s song about God and country

Chorus:

They say I’m a hero in the making - A profit made killer
They say I’m a soldier of fortune - A life or death dealer
They say obey your orders - Forget all that you know
They say be a good solder - You’ll come home a hero

Bridge:

The only war I find worth fighting is the one waning in my mind
Asking myself for reasons why I left my life and wife behind
But instead I find myself here in this war torn desert land
In another’s home, down my barrel, stands a fragile man
He is frightened as I slowly clinch my finger
His daughters beg me not to pull the trigger
No, No, No…. … Im no hero

Repeat Chorus:

Save your parades for another day
I’m no hero
