January 2005 Winners Announcement

January's winners and finalists include songwriters from Canada, The United Kingdom, Iceland, Puerto Rico, France, Australia, Germany, Bermuda, Bulgaria, The USA, and Japan.  If you were not selected in the top 5 of your category you can still enter the songwriting contest in another month.  This month's winners/finalists include six returning winners and finalists from various months in 2004. There will be a different set of judges involved each month. This is to ensure that the song selections are not limited to the same judge's opinions throughout the year. 

The January songwriting  judges have sent Song of the Year their picks and the results are listed below. Vocal ability and production quality was NOT taken into consideration. A full instrumental production is not needed. (Pop Finalist Paul Willms recorded just vocals and guitar, while Gospel Winner Gary Vincent and Folk Winner Maria DeMaio recorded just vocals with keyboard accompaniment). The winners are picked by songwriting alone. 

 The 1st place January songwriting winners in each category will now compete against the other 1st place songwriting monthly winners from 2005 in their respective category. One song from each category will then move on to compete against the other yearly winners from the other categories for the Grand Prizes. The top 5 winners/finalists from each category in January's round will have their material submitted to labels, publishers, and more!
