Doug has also been selected as a "Runner Up" in the February 2007 round of the Song of the Year song and lyric competition. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only the top entries achieve Runner Up status.

Doug has also been selected as a "Honorable Mention" in the April 2007, March 2009 and May 2009 rounds of the Song of the Year song and lyric competition. Song of the Year receives entries from all over the world and only those artists who display particular talent or creativity receive such recognition.
